New from Costa Rica - La Chumeca, bursting with flavour notes of Purple Grape, Pomegranate, and Lemon Sherbet. Sourced in the Tarrazú region and produced by Martin Ureña Quirós, “Chumeca” is a word used to express love and care and is commonly used in Martin’s family. This lot of Catuai coffee underwent a double fermentation natural process that the family calls the “777” process. Both aerobic and anaerobic fermentation is used while the cherries are still whole.

Launched in 2014, La Chumeca Micromill by producer Martin Ureña Quirós aims to elevate coffee quality on their family farm, focusing solely on Natural processes and lately excelling in Anaerobic processing. "Chumeca," a term denoting love and care in Martin's family, embodies the ethos of the mill. Renowned in Costa Rica for its innovative methods, the mill, led by Martin and his sons Emilio and Pacho, remains modest. Their estate features a fermentation station overseen by Emilio, a forested trail linking coffee fields, and a picturesque drying space with a treehouse offering panoramic views. Noteworthy is their "777" process, blending aerobic and anaerobic fermentations to produce exceptional Catuai coffee.

Cup Count

1 – 2 cups daily - 250g per week

2 – 4 cups daily - 500g per week

6 – 8 cups daily - 1kg per week
