Our goal is to make the very best coffee, simple.
Don’t get us wrong, simple doesn’t mean we don’t care about the details. I mean, the fact that we’ve got our own coffee science team is a bit of a giveaway.
But just because we’re obsessed with coffee, that doesn’t mean you need to be a certified coffee nerd to enjoy it. You see, while we’re searching for the best specialty coffees & roasting them to perfection, you can just kick back and enjoy a tasty cup. We think that’s the way coffee should be - simply exceptional.

We’re based in beautiful beachside Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches - which, as the old ad campaign for the Manly Ferry puts it, is “Seven Miles from Sydney and a thousand miles from care”.
The metric system isn’t the only change we’ve seen over the last 50 years. We’ve also added local roasteries in Brisbane, Canberra, Wollongong & Orange to support local cafes around Australia with fresh, quality coffee and exceptional local support.

Our story
ROSEVILLE, NSW – 1968When Ian Bersten first opened the doors to Belaroma Coffee in the leafy Sydney suburb of Roseville. His timing was right, espresso coffee was just starting to take off in Australia.
Late 70s
The reputation of the business grew over the following decades. By the late 70s, Belaroma had outgrown its humble beginnings, and coffee roasting was moved to the current location in Kenneth Rd, Manly Vale. From this new base, wholesale coffee supply continued to spread throughout the 80s and 90s. With local cafes popping up in cities and towns right across NSW.
Early 2000s
In the early 2000s, Belaroma changed hands. As Ian moved on, Andy Simpkin stepped in to take Belaroma on the next chapter of our journey. Despite increasing competition, the next 15 years saw the business continue to grow, expanding to Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle, Southern Highlands & the Gold Coast.
2016
In 2016, the business made the transition from Belaroma to Seven Miles, a name that reflects both our range of coffee and the location we call home. The name from the 1940s, when a local ad coined the phrase “Seven Miles from Sydney, a thousand miles from care” to promote the Northern Beaches’ down to earth, laid-back lifestyle.
Today
Today, we’re on a journey to redefine the next chapter in the evolution of coffee – where art meets science and exceptional coffee is given its rightful moment to shine.
In 2021, we became part of Seven Miles Coffee Company, which brings together more local roasteries in Wollongong & Orange, NSW, and continues our goal of reaching coffee lovers all over Australia with simply exceptional coffee.
