The pods are made of 100% renewable plant-based materials which completely break down within 26 weeks at ambient temperature in a home compost environment.

Plunger (Coarse Grind): this is the best option to select for French Press (Plunger), Cold Brew or Electric Percolator (excluding stovetop espresso - see below)
Filter (Medium Grind): this is the best option to select for manual pourover (e.g. v60, Melita), electric drip filter brewers (batch brew) or Aeropress (if using to brew 'filter' style coffee)
Stovetop (Medium/Fine Grind): this is the best option to select for Italian-style stovetop espresso makers (e.g. Bialetti, Moka)
Espresso (Fine): this is the best option for domestic, electric espresso machines (e.g. Sunbeam, Breville, etc)

Compostable Packaging Facts
The Seven Miles Classic pods completely break down within 26 weeks at ambient temperature (20 to 30 degrees) in a home compost environment. Most of the compost capsules on the market are industrial compostable coffee capsules, which means they need a very specific environment and often many years to break down. The other problem is that they are made from a mix of bio- and fossil-based material, with very poor quality due to almost no barrier to oxygen.
Our 100% biobased coffee capsules ensure a perfect result in the cup thanks to a barrier to oxygen level and a totally innovative compostable top lid. This special top lid has similar properties to the original aluminium lid, meaning the coffee is brewed perfectly in the machine with a great body and thick crema. Our capsules are made from a new generation of biopolymer: natural materials produced by the microorganism fermentation process, in which plant oil and its fatty acid are used as the primary material. We believe protecting flavour and aroma is key for the success of our pods.
Our compostable capsules are certified by independent third parties like TÜV AUSTRIA, DinCertco, ABA, and BPI.
The pods come in a cardboard box which can be placed in your kerbside recycling.
All of this delivers an exceptional coffee experience and represents a significant step towards a fossil-free future.
Our pods work with machines compatible with the original Nespresso®* system only. These pods won’t work with any other system, including Vertuo, Dolce Gusto, Aldi, or commercial pod systems.
