More About The Coffee
Tanzanian Kilimanjaro AA comes from Kilimanjaro Plantation, one of the largest and oldest coffee estates in Tanzania, located in the foothills of the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro. Coffee is grown at elevations between 1,050 and 1,400 metres above sea level, where cooler temperatures and a stable climate allow for slow cherry development and concentrated flavour. The estate benefits from fertile volcanic soils and consistent irrigation from glacial runoff, creating ideal growing conditions year after year.
Spanning approximately 595 hectares, the plantation is home to around 1.2 million coffee trees, with additional land dedicated to shade trees and wildlife corridors to support biodiversity and long‑term sustainability. Bourbon varietals are fully washed during processing, enhancing clarity and structure in the cup. With a strong focus on quality and careful farm management, Kilimanjaro Plantation produces coffees that reflect both the natural advantages of the region and a long‑standing commitment to excellence. This lot highlights the depth and intensity Tanzanian coffees are known for, delivering a vibrant yet balanced expression of the Kilimanjaro region.
