More About The Coffee
Peru Segundo Pintado Geisha is produced by Segundo Pintado Laban at Finca La Palma in Tabaconas, Cajamarca, one of Peru's most celebrated specialty coffee-growing regions. Situated at 1,900 MASL, the farm benefits from high elevations, fertile soils, and a cool mountain climate that supports slow cherry maturation and exceptional flavour development. Since winning ExpoCafé Tabaconas after just five years in specialty coffee, Segundo has continued refining his farming and processing practices, earning recognition for the quality and consistency of his coffees.
This lot is crafted from 100% Geisha and processed using an extended fermentation fully washed method. After selective hand-picking, ripe cherries rest for approximately 32 hours before pulping, followed by a carefully controlled 36 to 40-hour anaerobic fermentation. The coffee is then lightly washed, dried on mesh beds, and finished in a parabolic dryer to achieve optimal moisture content. The result is a clean and expressive cup with smooth milk chocolate, rich caramel sweetness, and juicy stone fruit notes, a testament to the elegance of the Geisha variety and the meticulous care taken throughout production.
